The energy efficiency improvement is a set goal for each user, the property owners. It is also a package of measures, and the implementation has been imposed, inter alia, by the European Union. The article presents the methods and possibilities of improving energy efficiency in lighting installations of public utility facilities, with a focus on educational facilities. It also presents estimated calculations that show decreased electricity consumption by introducing a specific method of saving. The methods described above can be used individually or in a combination to increase energy efficiency. The issue of improving energy efficiency of both specific installations and entire facilities is in the area of intrest of legislators, property owners, as well as scientists. The energy efficiency of the facilities, besides savings in electricity and heat consumption, also increases the environmental care and improves the comfort of using the facilities. The presented solutions can be used in most buildings. It is only their specificity \(construction, location, character of use\) that determines the type, way and the scope of implementation of the energy efficiency improvement system. The publication shows various methods of improving energy efficiency in lighting installations, which can be useful while choosing the right system and estimating the savings that its implementation will generate."]
